Downtown Brooklyn Residence
Scope: Design & Architecture, 900 Sq Ft
This one bedroom apartment overlooks downtown Brooklyn. The client’s goal was to modify the space into a sleeker and more functional setting by creating a more gracious entry with an emphasis on symmetry and openness. Steilish reconfigured and updated the kitchen and existing closets. In addition, a new color palette, new materials, and new lighting were introduced.
Features of the space include bleached oak floors, hand painted kitchen cabinets with Caesar Stone work surfaces, Miele appliances, and a Vitsoe shelving system functioning as a home office. Further, two video projectors, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, display movies onto the solar shades and eliminating clumsy flat screen TVs. The result is a sleek and joyful interior shaped to support the client’s lifestyle and showcasing the wide variety of design items and furnishings that have been collected over the years.
